Trail access

#1: Drive west out of Steamboat Springs on HWY 40 approximately 2 miles and turn right on Elk River Road (County Road 129). Drive past Hahn's Peak Village 2 miles to FDR (Forest Development Road) 485, this is the east side entrance to Hahns Peak Lake.

#2: Same as above, but continue 1 mile past the east side entrance to FDR 486. Turn left two miles to the west side parking area.

Trail attractions

Easy access to fishing around the lake. The lake is stocked yearly and is good fishing for 10-12 inch trout.

Narrative

From the east side entrance the trail starts on the left and goes across the dam. It follows the shoreline fairly closely with easy access to the lake. There are three bridges and one boardwalk to avoid the wetland areas. The trail ends at the west side parking lot.
