Mazzola's Italian Restaurant: Restaurant Review

Excellent Italian food and service, in a casual, kid-friendly atmosphere - That was my family's experience at Mazzola's Italian Restaurant.

From the friendly hostess, who brought us through the bar area and past the wine racks, to seat us at our quaint red-and-white checkered table, to the properly attentive server, we were never left wanting. Our daughter is 2, so we greatly appreciated it when the hostess brought crayons, a child-cup and a ball of bread dough (later baked into Mickey Mouse a huge hit). A bottle of Chianti (for $18, not bad) soon followed for the adults.

Next came a basket of complimentary garlic flat bread, served with olive oil, hummus, and olives. This was delicious, but the Baked 'Shrooms (seafood-stuffed mushrooms) and Fried Artichokes (lightly fried artichoke hearts served with a honey mustard dipping sauce) that followed were even better.

Our main course was excellent as well: Penne alla Vodka for myself, and homemade artichoke-sausage pizza for my husband. The Penne included shrimp, more than I could eat, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the garlic-oil infused thin-crust pizza. My daughter quickly ate her Noodles and Butter from the kids menu and even ate good helpings of our Penne and pizza. Our server provided plenty of fresh Parmesan, augmented by the crushed red pepper, Parmesan, seasonings and silverware provided at every table.

We didn't have dessert, but the Tiramisu and Chocolate Calzone were very tempting.

This is one of the best meals my husband and I have enjoyed with our young daughter in some time. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is kid and family friendly.

I would recommend Mazzola's to anyone. Just be sure to bring your appetite!

Mazzola's is open for dinner Monday through Sunday, 5:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. Dinners range in price from about $10.00 to $26.00.
