Most Important / Meaningful Gift of Jewelry:
Definitely my engagement ring. My husband designed it using a diamond of his grandmother’s, they were very close. She was given the diamond by her father while her husband was away serving our country in World War I. It was meant to symbolize her husband’s safe return, and she wore it everyday on her right hand. He did return safely and eventually the diamond was handed down to my husband’s mother, who saved it for him to use as an engagement ring. It is now beautifully accented with a custom wedding band made by Hofmeister Personal Jewelers!
Everyday I focus on being a personal jeweler by:
Making the customer happy by listening to his/her needs. No matter what their budget is, their time is worthwhile! Jewelry is a very personal gift and the experience of buying it should match the extremely happy and memorable experience of receiving it! I really started to understand this on Tim’s and my first wedding anniversary. He went to HPJ and Tom gave him a few choices of pieces I had admired in the past. He also had a special bracelet shipped in from the Indy store that featured a single, perfectly cut diamond. It was perfect to celebrate our first year together and that was what Tim selected. It was the definition of “personal” to have the foresight to get that in for Tim to see and that is what I now aspire to.
