Classic Antique or Contemporary:
Pretty Classic, but I can go contemporary too. It usually comes down to what is going to set off the stone or communicate what the piece symbolizes. I also love antique jewelry and all the sentiment that goes along with it.

Most Important / Meaningful Gift of Jewelry:
Oddly, not just my engagement ring, but the enhancer I received on our 5th wedding anniversary. I had to go back east and get my grandmother settled into a nursing home after a bad fall and the subsequent onset of dementia. My sister and I had to clean out her home and deal with the legal and other ramifications of the move. It was a lot for a 26 year old to deal with. On my return to Colorado, Tom picked me up at the airport and even though it was a few days before our anniversary, he gave me the ring before we were even out of airport parking! I was exhausted, emotionally and physically and just started crying. I think Tom worried for a moment that it wasn’t right…but it was perfect. We’d never spent time apart before this trip and that ring represented just how much we missed each other!

Everyday I focus on being a personal jeweler by:
Just trying to get it right! A gift of jewelry represents so much. I have delivered jewelry up to the Doak (Walker Care Center) for a quadriplegic customer who wanted to surprise his wife on Valentine’s and couldn’t navigate the snowy sidewalks downtown. I have done a commemorative ring for a customer whose child was stillborn. I have done a custom engagement ring for a Nordic Combined World Champion. Each piece has been different with a different intention, but all successful. That’s the thing about being a Personal Jeweler…you are with your customers through all the ups and downs of their lives. We share their joys and pain, their achievements and loss. We celebrate the birth of a new baby with a “push present” knowing years later we may fit that baby for their wedding ring. It’s about life, love, and friendship – we just happen to be jewelers.

I can’t wait to:
Learn more! My education thus far has been concentrated in diamonds and I am looking forward to expanding my horizons into colored stones and pearls. I enjoy buying jewelry for the store, picking out special pieces for customers I know would love them and seeing their faces when we show them what we found, I can never wait to see that thrill in their eyes!
