Friends of The Chief is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation committed to the rehabilitation and revitalization of the historic Chief Theater in downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
We seek to develop this historic building into a cultural center that meets the needs of a vibrant and active arts community through state-of-the-art technology, diverse programming and educational opportunities.

Now called The Chief, the space was an older movie theater recently renovated to be a performance and cultural venue. Finally! The town is lucky to have the folks who rallied to make this happen. They have completed the first phase of renovation, and it's impressive. The space has a classic theater feel with rustic modern touches. Sound and lighting are professional. They host a wide variety of events. Check out the marquee on Lincoln Ave.
