Description: Affordable Housing Forum Series: Current State of Affordable Housing
How is our community responding to the need for affordable housing? This forum will review our challenges, successes and current inventory of affordable housing. Three entities charged with the development of housing -- the Yampa Valley Housing Authority, Habitat for Humanity and the City of Steamboat Springs -- will review their activities, results, and mechanisms employed to keep this housing inventory permanently affordable. The City of Steamboat's affordable housing policies including the Inclusionary Zoning and Linkage Ordinance will be explained and units created reviewed. Other community efforts to promote affordable housing will also be discussed.
