African dance and drum classes

Description: When: 5:30 to 6:30p.m. drum class with Dr. Djo Bi, 6:30 to 8p.m. all-levels dance class with Djian Tie
Where: Let’s Dance Studio in Oak Creek Monday, Perry-Mansfield Tuesday and Thursday
Cost: $15 for drum class, $15 for dance class and $12 each for multiple dance classes
Why you should go: Because Djian Tie has an extraordinary theatrical presence and is well versed in the traditional dances of the West Coast of Africa in modern, jazz, soca, contemporary, aerobics and hip-hop. He may even surprise you with a little flamenco or break dancing. Drum teacher Dr. Djo Bi is one of the most respected master drummers living in the U.S. He also is a musicologist, historian, composer and dancer.
